LECOM Sports & Orthopedic Medicine offers a complete range of  orthopedic and sports medicine services for the everyday athlete as well as varsity, college and professional players. Our doctors are also the team physicians for the Erie BayHawks, Mercyhurst University and the Erie Otters.

Gregory W. Coppola, D.O., FAOASM, Sports & Integrative Medicine
Dr. Coppola, Sports and Integrative Medicine Specialist and Clinical Professor at LECOM received his Osteopathic Degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Residency at East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine. Coppola also received Fellowships in Sports Medicine, Prolotherapy and Acupuncture. He is board certified in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy for Sports Medicine and previous Board Member for the AOASM. He has given several presentations at nationwide conferences as well as published in several publications.  Amongst his extensive professional background, previously Coppola served as Clinical Faculty of University of Wisconsin and on the Faculty at Michigan State University. He was also Team Physician at MSU.


Patrick F. Leary, D.O., FAOASM, Sports & Integrative Medicine
Dr. Leary, Sports Medicine Specialist with MAE and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), received his Osteopathic Degree from the University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCUMB) and completed his post graduate education at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Leary is board certified in Family Medicine and obtained a Certificate of Added Qualification in SportsMedicine as well as Geriatrics.

Anthony J. Ferretti, D.O., Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Ferretti received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is board certified in Orthopedics and is Clinical Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), Surgery and Orthopedics at LECOM.

Steven Habusta, D.O., FAOAO, M.Ed., Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Habusta is an Orthopedic Surgeon with MAE, and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of the Orthopedic Surgery program at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). He received his masters degree in education from the University of Toledo, his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Grandview Hospital. He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery.  In addition, he received a fellowship from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. Dr. Habusta is also part of the medical team of the Erie BayHawks, team physician for the Toledo Storm professional hockey team and the Toledo Price professional indoor soccer team, and orthopedic consultant for the World Cup Wrestling Tournament.

Christopher Rial, D.O.
Dr. Rial is a graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Washington Hospital in Washington, PA and completed the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship with the LECOM Sports Medicine practice.  Dr. Rial has worked as part of the LECOM Sports Medicine team providing physician services for the Erie BayHawks, Erie Otters, Erie Explosion, Mercyhurst College and local sports program in the Washington, PA area.  As an undergraduate, he played  with the St. Vincent College Varsity Baseball Team.

Joshua A. Tuck, D.O., M.S., Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Tuck, a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery with a dual fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, received his medical degree from the University of New England. After completing a 5-year Orthopedic Residency at Millcreek Community Hospital, he went on to complete a Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center during which time he served as a team physician for the Boston Red Sox Organization.
